NEW SHAPES // CMJ 2013

CMJ is around the corner once again, and with it comes our annual New Shapes CMJ blowout, now in its fifth year as our flagship annual live event. Joining forces once again with our UK brothers-in-arms Chess Club and National Anthem, we’ve got another globetrotting double-decker showcase lined up, as we look to pick up where previous years left off with one of our biggest bills to date.

New Shapes’ upstairs stage has established quite the legacy over the years, having previously hosted Icona Pop, Local Natives and Gotye’s US debut, and this year’s headlining triumvirate of Little Daylight, HAERTS and Kodaline look set to ably carry the torch in 2013. Kicking the room off early, we’ve German electronic newcomers Claire, the UK’s next great arena act in Morning Parade, and Australia’s best new band in The Preatures.

Downstairs, it’s LA mysterios Night Terrors of 1927 and the breezy tropical pop of Panama Wedding getting things warmed up first, followed by a double dose of Neon Gold newcomers in Wet and Magic Man, before London-via-LA’s Lovelife and Australia’s The Griswolds shut things down late night.

It’s all popping off at Santos Party House on Thursday October 17th, from 6pm until late. Advance $5 tickets are now available HERE but will likely go fast (if history is any indication), with any remaining tickets available on the door for $10 day of show. And as always, there will be limited entry for CMJ badges on a first come, first serve basis.
