GOT A DOWNTOWN FIRE.

Layla‘s been kicking about the UK music scene for a minute now, but she returns this week with her latest and quite possibly greatest offering yet, “Smokestacks”. With it, the fringe-framed chanteuse concocts a hazy blood orange ballad that’s equal parts rousing and mellowing, from the dramatically escapist piano touches to the piercing vocal harmonies and thumping industrial drums. It’s as if the kindred spirits of Florence & The Machine and MS MR chose to haunt the same abandoned opera house, and it’s available for streaming below.
