FEEL IT IN MY LUNGS.

Remember this name: Hoodlem. Arriving under cover of darkness with nothing but an amazing debut offering to her (their?) name earlier this year, Hoodlem looks set to follow in Lorde‘s footsteps as Down Under’s latest pop hopeful to compete for a sliver of the international spotlight. “Through” is ultra-slick achromatic synth-hop of the highest order, sparking up with flickering vocals and tempestuous synths that toss and turn all night long. In a way, it reminds us of Lorde’s own early material; a rough gem that flourishes in its unique composition, as if its creator hadn’t been writing long enough to become burdened by the structural trappings of conventional songwriting. You better believe we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
