Cut Ribbons are a new thing out of West Wales currently making waves with their debut Bound In Love EP, recently set free into the wild by the lovely folks at Kissability. Opening with a shimmering chord progression of slow-motion heartbreak a la London Grammar, “Flight” slowly builds to an epic arena-sized conclusion while somehow maintaining the hushed emotional fragility of The xx throughout. It’s an impressive balancing act as Cut Ribbons speak softly but carry a very big stick, ably showcasing why they’re one of the best acts to come out of the region since recent tour partners The Joy Formidable.
