WANT YOU FOR MY OWN.

No better way imaginable to announce our newest addition to the family than with Cathedrals’ smoldering miracle of a third single, which does the near-impossible in raising the bar from perfect introductory offerings “Harlem” and “Unbound,” and cements the San Francisco duo’s status as a band with a midas touch. “Want My Love” is a dense, incandescent pop ballad on par with Jessie Ware at her best: Brodie Jenkins unleashes a reservoir of vocal charisma, spinning the melody like a slow-burning top, a torch kindled in the darkness, a swirl of clouds collecting over the sea. Anchored by Johnny Hwin’s steady pendulum of a beat and taut, electric guitar lines that wail a counterpart in the background, the track feels at once both elusive and like a romance that’s held you tight for years. “Want My Love” is out digitally tomorrow as Cathedrals’ first official single release on Neon Gold, the lead track off their debut EP arriving later this year. Your new favorite band is here.
